STEPHEN M. MERRICK

STEPHEN M. MERRICK is of counsel to the firm.  He has been engaged in the practice of law in the areas of general corporate, business, finance, securities and business counseling since 1967.  He also provides services in estate planning, tax and real estate.

Steve has provided services to business enterprises and individuals engaged in a variety of businesses, including manufacturing, services, financial services, direct sales and retail.  He has structured, negotiated, counseled and documented transactions in numerous areas, including venture capital financing, bank financing, securities registration and reporting, acquisitions, executive compensation arrangements, service and production agreements and many others.

Steve acts as a legal, business and tax advisor to a number of corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and individuals, and is a member of the Board of Directors of two publicly-held companies.

Steve is a graduate of Northwestern University (B.S. 1963) and Northwestern School of Law (J.D. 1966), where he was Valedictorian and Associate Editor of the Law Review.  Steve is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and American Bar Association (Section of Business Law).
