Robert A. Vanasco was a founding member of Vanasco Genelly & Miller. Bob was a loyal advocate, dear friend and successful attorney for more than 35 years. His achievements were many. He worked for the Federal Government at the Department of Labor in the late 1960’s before taking a position at the well-known New York firm of Nixon Peabody LLP. He came to Chicago in 1974 to become the First General Counsel of the Chicago Board of Trade, establishing the position successfully before returning in 1976 to private practice with a series of firms before helping found what is Vanasco Genelly & Miller in 1994.
Bob received his law degree at Fordham University in New York where he served as a social worker in the city’s boroughs. He received his undergraduate B. A. degree from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, in 1963. Bob was a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and was an active participant in the Securities, Futures, & Derivatives Industries in the Chicago area.
